Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation, or TENS, has been a common treatment for many illnesses for several decades. The basic technology of a TENS unit is what the Electrotherapeutic BioSuit is based on. Again, as can be seen on TV, many electrical stimulation devices are now available being marketed for improving muscle tone. Our goal with the BioSuit project is to create a full body TENS unit that has real-time telemetric control from a model human to the therapy subject.
