Upon considerations of the single design axiom stated above, we must consider first that the initial investment in expensive materials is justified by the inevitable replacement cost of lesser grade materials. First you must retain freedom of expression. For this, the minimum and maximum spatial envelopes can be defined, along with the standard gauge of rail and drive system that may be used as a construction platform for any coach builder. The opportunity to recreate the public transportation system yields the freedom to employ the most important aspects of human comfort, communications, and relaxation via fresh new ergonomics, wireless electronic communications, material sciences. No longer will people ride in high density seating areas that are found in most public transportation systems today. The various iterations of the Interstate Traveler Project will always grow to better fit the comfort of its passengers. Finally, one must ask: How many ways can any one problem be solved? Which is the best solution for the least cost, yet still limited to the single design axiom of "How Cheap can you make it, and still make it last 1000 years?" |
