Mr. William C. Brooks - Retired

last two years.

William C. Brooks
William C. Brooks is
Chairman, President and CEO of United American Healthcare Corporation (NASDAQ:UAHC);
and Member, Board of Directors Covansys, Inc. (NASDAQ:CVNS) Chairman Audit
Committee. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Detroit Regional
Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Board of Directors of Communities in
Schools of Detroit.
Mr. Brooks is a
retired U.S. Air Force Officer and a retired Vice President of General Motors
Corporation. He is a retired member of the Board of Directors of Louisiana
Pacific Corporation (NYSE: LPX) and DTE Energy (NYSE: DTE). He is also a former
Chairman of the Board of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce and Chairman,
Detroit Public Schools Board of Education from February 2003 to January 2006.
He is a past member of the Board of Trustees of Grand Valley State University
and the University of Detroit Mercy.
Mr. Brooks was
nominated by President Bill Clinton on August 10, 1995 and was confirmed by the
U.S. Senate to serve as a member of the Social Security Advisory Board,
effective February 1996. The Social Security Advisory Board was created by
public law in 1994 and consists of seven members, three of whom are appointed by
the President and require confirmation by the U.S. Senate. The Board is
responsible for advising the President, the Congress, and the Commission of the
Social Security Administration on policy relating to old age, survivors, the
disability program, and the Supplemental Security Income Program. He resigned
in January 1998.
Mr. Brooks was nominated by President George
Bush on June 8, 1989, and confirmed by the U.S. Senate on July 27, 1989, to be
the Assistant Secretary of Labor for the Employment Standards Administration,
the largest agency in the Department of Labor. This Job is viewed as one of the
100 toughest jobs in the government. He was responsible for laws and
regulations setting employment standards for most U.S. workers. He resigned on
November 30, 1990.
Mr. Brooks worked in President Richard Nixon’s White House as an Operations
Research Analyst in the Office of Management and Budget in 1972 and 1973.
Mr. Brooks earned a
Bachelor of Arts degree from Long Island University and a Master’s degree in
Business Administration (MBA) from The University of Oklahoma.
He has completed the Harvard
Business School’s Advanced Management Program. In May 1987, he was the
commencement speaker at Florida A&M University and awarded an Honorary Doctor of
Humane Letters. In May 2000, he was the commencement speaker at William Tyndale
College.
